During Pandemic, Latter-day Saint Caribbean Youth Attend First-ever Virtual FSY Conference
Here you will see a powerful example of what can still be done during a pandemic to strengthen the youth and bring them together, even if it has to be virtually.
We love our Youth Conference Counselors! We asked them these 5 questions:

4. What are your favorite physical distancing hobbies/activities?
5. How do you "GO and DO" like Nephi in your daily life?

Hannah Anderson
1. I have 2 brothers.
2. I don’t have any pets
3. I was born in Sacramento, and my family moved to Waterford because the spirit told my parents that was the place to live.
4. I love to hang out with my small group of friends, go to the lake and work.
5. Trying to read my scriptures daily, and being an example to those I see.
Diana Brown
1. . I have 2 siblings. A younger sister and a younger brother.
2. My family has a few pets. I have a husky named Luna, 2 outdoor cats, several fish, and a tortoise named Petunia.
3. I was born in Burlington, Wisconsin, lived in Mexico until I turned eight and have lived in CA ever since.
4. My quarantine pastimes have been being with my family, reading, running and hiking.
5. I go and do like Nephi by acting on the small impression that the spirit gives me to serve my family, friends and neighbors with love.
Jason England
1. I have 7 siblings: 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
2. Just a couple months ago we got a new dog named Patty.
3. I was born in Reno, Nevada, where we moved less than one year later to Turlock.
4. I've been running a lot and I just recently started baking.
5. I try put put all my faith in Christ and trust He has his hand in my life. I often ask for His guidance and try my best to listen for His promptings.
Hannah Falke
1. I have seven older siblings. I am the youngest in my family.
2. I had a lot of different pets when I was a kid. I currently have a dog named Oakley.
3. I was born in Turlock, California.
4. My favorite social distancing activities have been spending time with family, reading books, exercising, and being outside (which includes: hammocking, swimming, kayaking, and yard work).
5. I go and do like Nephi in my daily life by repenting, reading scriptures, praying, serving others and trying to find ways to strengthen my relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
Abraham Gutierrez
1. 3 Siblings, 1 older brother (28 michael), 1 older sister (21 Azucena) and 1 younger brother (emmanuel 15)
2. 1 dog, bishon poodle mix (Lucas)
3. Modesto, grew up in Newman
4. Play Tennis, read books, board games

Azucena Gutierrez

Hannah Hanson
1. I have 5 siblings! Two older brothers, a younger sister, and two younger brothers. I also have an amazing sister-in-law!
2. Yes! I have a dog named Blitz. Most of my family thinks he’s weird, but I think he’s pretty cute.
3. I was born just down the road in Merced, CA. My family has lived in the valley my whole life, and we love it! Being close to the mountains, rivers, hiking, and beaches is the best.
4. I love spending time with me family and friends! Corona time has been a great way for me and my family to reconnect and be together without a lot of outside distractions. Lately, my family has been into kite flying and spike ball!
5. Scriptures! I love the scriptures so much. It’s been so awesome to be a part of the church wide book club studying the Book of Mormon together through Come, Follow Me, and it’s been even more awesome to get to discuss what I learn in personal study with my family. My favorite part about personal scripture study is to make goals on how I can apply what I have learned that session to my daily life. I’m not perfect at meeting those goals, but they do help me become better! I love this gospel so much, and I’m so excited to hear your testimonies and be a part of this fortifying experience will you all!!!
Mark Hanson
1. I'm the second of 6 kids.
2. I (kinda) have one dog. Though I'm not sure he counts as a full "dog".
3. I was born in Merced. I moved to Hughson when I was 13 to be closer to my dad's work and the school we were attending.
4. Running has been my biggest hobby lately! Its really been my only hobby...
5. The main way I have "gone and done" like Nephi, has been by always having the attitude that I can do whatever I need to do. If I realize I'm in an "I can't do it" frame of mind, I take a minute to reevaluate, maybe say a prayer, get in the right mindset, and return to the task at hand.
Kathryn Merriam
1. Three younger siblings
2. I have a dog! His name is Jake and he is part German Shepherd part Australian Shepherd!
3. I was born in Logan, Utah! Moved here when I was 2 to be closer to my dad's side of the family!
4. Writing books and songs! Games with my family! Movies with family! Cooking and baking!
5. I try every day to use the talents He has blessed me with so I can serve Him and His children!
Nathan Merriam

Erik Nunnally
1. I have 2 brothers, 5 sisters, 3 stepbrothers and 1 stepsister. A total of 11 siblings.
2. I do not have any pets.
3. I was born in Redwood City, California.
4. My favorite physical distancing hobby is playing ping pong. The table is 9 feet long.
5. I "go and do" as Nephi did by doing my best to be an example for my siblings to follow.
Kendra Payne
1. I am the oldest of 4; I have two brothers, ages 9 and 16 and a sister, age 11.
2. I don't have any pets but I do love animals, I have livestock that I care for. Currently, I have a market hog and steer that were supposed to go to the fair.
3. I currently live in Newman which means I am a member of the Crows Landing Ward. However, I grew up in a town called Murfreesboro right outside of Nashville, Tennessee. I have moved around a lot in my life but we moved back to California because my sister was injured during birth and needed reconstructive surgery that only Shriners Hospital could provide her.
4. I love spending time with my animals and being outside. Apart from that I love doing art, and playing games with my siblings.
5. My favorite way is by spreading the Gospel! I have a podcast where I love talking about the church and my life experiences as a teen member during these times. I often receive questions that I get to answer and clear misunderstandings or help others through struggles which is an amazing feeling!
Ethan Woodruff
1. I have 3 siblings
2. I don’t have any pets.
3. I was born in Provo, Utah. We moved around the country for a while until we moved to Hughson to be close to my mother’s family.
4. My favorite social distancing hobby is day trading and learning new skills.
5. I am like Nephi by preparing to go through the temple and go on my mission.
Jack Wooley
1. I have 2 little brothers and 2 little sisters.
2. Nope.
3. I was born in Riverside, CA.
4. I have been taking online classes and have been staying pretty busy with those. I've also been mountain biking a little in my spare time.
5. One thing I think is really important is to pay attention to the Spirit and then do what you feel impressed to do, even though it might not make sense to you. If you follow the Spirit you can't go wrong.
